The main window
The Duplicate Cleaner window has a navigation bar down the left-hand side, and the current page on the right.
Navigation bar
Section titled “Navigation bar”The navigation bar lists, from the top:
- Home - the Home page, where you create new scans, import saved ones, and see all the scans you have open.
- Your scans - one entry for each open scan, showing its name and its current status. A progress bar runs under the name while the scan is working. Click a scan to go to it. You can have up to 10 scans open at once.
- Tools - standalone tools: virtual folders, the hash tool and the empty folder remover.
- Settings - settings that apply to the whole program.
- Log - the log file of everything Duplicate Cleaner has done.
At the bottom of the bar are the Registration and Help buttons.
The arrow button at the top of the bar expands or collapses it. Collapsed, the bar shows icons only, giving more room to the page.
The Tools, Settings and Log pages have a Back button at the top, which returns you to the page you came from.
Inside a scan
Section titled “Inside a scan”Each scan has a row of tabs across the top, which follow the order of a typical scan:
- What to find - the scan criteria.
- Where to look - the folders and drives to scan.
- Start scan - a summary, the Start button and the scan progress.
- Duplicate files - the results.
- Remaining files - files with no duplicates, if you asked for them.
- Duplicate folders - folders whose contents are duplicated.
The results tabs only appear once there are results to show. See Setting up a scan for the Save and Close buttons.
